My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Athena, at just 5 weeks old, was spooked and ran up a tree - about 50 feet! There she stayed for hours until Stray H.E.L.P. volunteers were able to locate a tree climber to go up and get her. She is named after her rescuer - Athena Odell from Alpine Tree Service.

Athena, after a good bath, a big meal, and a snuggly blanket was hooked on being friends with humans! She is sweet and friendly, loves to play and gets along well with cats and dogs, and she loves watching her hamster housemates.

We estimate her birthday to be March 21, 2021. She was rescued in the city of Poughkeepsie along with her brother and other community cats in the same complex by Stray H.E.L.P. volunteers; ending the terrible cycle of reproduction and suffering.

Our required adoption donation is $150 per kitten or $125 per cat (older than 9 months). All our rescues are up to date on shots, microchipped, tested for FIV/FeLV/Heartworm. They are dewormed, treated for parasites and free of fleas. Each is spayed or neutered and given a rabies vaccination.
