Candy is as sweet as her name suggests!! She’s an adorable little senior Bichon/Mix looking for a calm home and family eager to care for her during her twilight years. Although thought to be 12 years young, Candy has plenty of spunk and pep in her step. She’s wonderful with other dogs, and friendly with the people she has come to meet while with BAARK Dog Rescue.
We believe Candy was well cared-by her previous owner who passed away. Her adult kids had no interest in Candy and dumped her at a local animal control facility, eager to get rid of this problem.
As expected Candy was scared and confused. Animal Control contacted BAARK and asked if we could help this sweet girl, and that we did. Candy’s foster reports that she is a well-mannered girl, in very good physical condition, friendly, and eager to please.
Candy is thought to be 12 or so years old, and weighs just 12 lbs. Other than the need for a dental cleaning and possible extractions (which BAARK will provide), Candy is in overall good health. She is fully vetted, spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative and on year-round heartworm prevention.
We would like to find an all-adult home for Candy, with a family eager to make her a part of their family and provide her with her best life ever!! A canine companion for Candy would also be nice. However she should do fine as an only dog too. Experience with the breed is most helpful.
We at BAARK celebrate seniors and hope there are others out there willing to embrace our little senior Candy and give her the best life ever.
