My story

Chihuahua
Age: 4-5 yrs old
Male, neutered
9 lbs

Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations)

Mocha was turned into the Hayward shelter as a stray. He was TERRIFIED in the shelter: tried to bite or escape whenever shelter staff tried to work with him. So the shelter called us to pull him into foster care.

In his foster home, he quickly settled in and bonded with his first foster family, but was still very weary of strangers. He was adopted and shared a home with another small (tiny) senior female Chihuahua, Cadbury, who was also adopted from Nobody’s Perfekt Dogs over a year ago. Both dogs were returned when the woman who adopted them became ill and no longer able to care for them. When Mocha and Cadbury came back, we were pleased to see that they had blossomed into pretty sweet, confident, friendly dogs. WE WOULD LOVE TO FIND THEM A NEW HOME TOGETHER.

Mocha needs an experienced adopter with other small friendly dogs in the home.

Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13.

Why adoption is a great option

Mocha, a San Leandro Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in San Leandro, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in San Leandro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Leandro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Leandro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Leandro paves the way for another one to be saved.
