Okay 2023, let's make this Rocky's year! This handsome young man has been searching for his home for a while, and has had no serious applications, we need to change that!

Rocky is one of my easiest keepers; smart, biddable, athletic, people neutral, and up for anything! He's a dog I can take with me and know what to expect, and have a lot of fun with where ever we go. Being human/stranger neutral allows for peaceful vet trips, and easy grooming appointments. He LOVES to work, and if you are engaging his brain, he's with you 100%.

Rocky is an outdoors lover and is always ready to go. Hiking, biking, swimming, camping, this is your #1 pal! Always ready for the next adventure no matter what the weather. He is 100% best bud material, and is there to make sure you keep your New Years fit promise!

Rocky is not dog social, and does not share his space with other pets well. He needs to have a pet free home, so that he can turn off and relax in his own environment. He does have some reactivity with barriers/on leash, but is well managed. I have taken him on many a hike with others. As long as everyone has their dogs under control, and it is a structured environment, Rocky will do just fine. Continued training and management is important to your success.

Rocky has good toy/ball/food drive, and is easy to teach, and work with. He does have resource guarding tendencies, and with mismanagement in his past, a bite history has resulted. His future home must be willing and able to work with, and manage these tendencies, to ensure there are no more bad decisions. Utilizing his crate, as well as a structured routine, has Rocky performing like a star. No homes with persons under 18 will be considered due to the bite history.

Rocky is in fantastic shape, and has no major health concerns. He has had a history of allergies, but has not needed his cytopoint in over a year. He eats a regular diet (Royal Canin German Shepherd/Large Breed Adult) without issue, and gets various treats and bones as well. In a new environment this may change, but is easily managed. He is on the larger side, so keeping him lean and fit is super important for his longterm health.

If Rocky sounds like the best friend and partner missing from your life, please send a message for an application to start the process!

Why adoption is a great option

Rocky, a Niagara Falls German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Niagara Falls, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Niagara Falls.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Niagara Falls already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Niagara Falls breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Niagara Falls paves the way for another one to be saved.
