90% of homes will not work for this one-of-a-kind gal.... We're looking for the 10%! We know you are out there!
Highly intelligent. Loves food. Eager to learn. Craves mental stimulation and patience. This is not a soul that wants to be the friendly dog that everyone can pet. She has a much different plan for herself and her person. Charlotte has a very special trait. It's her biggest strength and also her biggest obstacle. Charlotte bonds with those that fulfill her needs for structure and connection. When she bonds, she bonds hard. Once you are her person, you are her world. And all she needs is your love, a soft bed, and a routine feeding schedule. Charlotte is on the lookout for a farm or someone with land that gives her much needed space away from other dogs and honestly, people. She's looking for the person that doesn't expect their dog to be something she's not. Social? Multi-human house? Busy house? Concentrated neighborhood? It's just not her. Charlotte is almost 3 years old and weighs around 60 lbs. No other animals or children. Just you. Space. Quiet. While she waits here at the shelter for you, we've been working on desensitizing other dogs and new people. Charlotte loves yard time with spending one on one time with her favorite volunteers and a small handful of staff members. Charlotte LOVES to play ball and sit pretty for treats. If you have space, a quiet environment, and can handle a dog with particular needs- give us a call at the shelter or email steph@safehavenhumane.com for any further questions. Charlotte will be here waiting.

More about this shelter
For over 40 years, SafeHaven Humane Society has worked to help our communities’ residents be the best humane beings they can be by providing compassionate temporary shelter care; healthy adoptable animals; information, understanding and education; and population control through spay and neuter programs, instead of euthanasia.
Mission
Finding Homes…Opening Hearts….Educating Minds to strengthen and improve the lives of animals and people.
Vision
We envision a community where every adoptable, treatable companion animal has a loving home and where every loving home has the opportunity to care for a companion animal.
Values
We are guided by the belief that no adoptable or treatable companion animal should be unnecessarily euthanized due to space, time, appearance or treatable conditions.
We are committed to:
* Giving a new chance to companion animals who would otherwise be discarded.
* Strengthening the humane animal bond through education.
* Helping people and their companion animals stay together through the support of programs and services.
* Leading responsibly with compassion.
