My story

Frank is one of our longest residents. He came to the shelter as a stray back in June 2021 and has been patiently waiting at the shelter to meet his forever family since then.

Do you love chocolate lab type shenanigans? Do you love poochies that like to be very close, kiss, and
cuddle? If you answered yes, then Frank is the poochie for you! He LOVES his toys and is extremely loving. He is very athletic and would love to learn to play fetch and chase frisbees. He does need some work learning when jumping is acceptable. He would probably do best being the only dog or with dogs larger than himself and probably with kids over 12. Frank is a very smart, fun-loving dog that needs an active person or family to adore him and be willing to allow him time to reacclimate from being in the shelter for over a year.

Frank has been overlooked by potential adopters because he is heartworm positive, but the good news is that now his treatment is FULLY SPONSORED by his friends at Ya Ya's!! So, his new family can take him to receive his treatment once adopted, at HSSM's Wellness Clinic for FREE!!!

Additional adoption info

HSSM is home to over 300 pets on any given day, most of which are looking for new forever homes! Your new best friend could be waiting at HSSM right now. Our beautiful, 41,000 square foot facility is currently open to the public. HSSM is open for adoptions Tuesday – Friday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. No appointment is necessary to adopt, however, adoptions are first-come, first served. You must come to HSSM to complete your adoption and make sure you bring a photo ID, as it is required to complete adoption paperwork. Our adoptable animals page is self-updating and displays ALL of HSSM’s adorable adoptable pets from “pocket pets” to birds and of course the hundreds of dogs and cats currently calling HSSM home! See one you like? Make sure you note your favorite’s name and animal ID number so that HSSM staff and volunteers can easily find him/her when you come in! Adoptions are cut off every day about 30 minutes prior to closing and possibly earlier if volume is high. Weekends are busy and you may have to wait more than an hour (especially in the afternoons) so please be prepared.
