My story

ADORABLE ALEXA! Age 6, Phoenix, AZ.

My name is Alexa....and my personality is just what my description suggests...charming, sweet and delightful!

I am a 6yr old 43 lb Cattle dog. I am brown and white and even have a brown spot smiley face on my side....I mean how many dogs can say that??? I love to play fetch and am a happy girl that likes to be pet. Working together to support my training would be essential for me.

A family with herding dog experience is recommended. Herding dogs will try and move you around with their mouths at your ankles. This action can be mis-construed by people not familiar with the innate "Heeler" behavior. Hearding dogs nip the hoofs of sheep/cows etc. to get them to move in the direction they want them to go.

All herding behavior is modified predatory behavior. Herding breeds will herd family members, particularly children, in the absence of other charges. Most herding breeds have physical characteristics that help them with their work, including speed and endurance.

I am spayed, up-to-date on shots and microchipped. I am good with new people and know my training basics. Please fill out an application and come see my permanent smiley face for yourself!

More about this rescue

We are a group of volunteers that have worked in the rescue community in AZ for many years and are coming together to help fill a void in our rescue community. We care as much about the people as well as the dogs and want to keep giving each paw a hand until the shelters are empty. We will also provide resources for our community for people to try and keep their pet rather than surrendering them. We want to find the right fit for the people by taking a dog out of the shelter rather than making a dog fit for the people.
