Alala was confiscated by Hayward Animal Control along with nine other dogs from a hoarding situation. Everyone lived in a single hotel room. All of the dogs were related (puppies having puppies . . . ). Four of the dogs were fixed and returned to the owner, while the other six were left at the shelter. None of them were deemed “adoptable” and no other rescue group would take any of them, so Nobody’s Perfekt Dogs pulled all six into multiple foster homes. Alala has adjusted well to her new environment, whereas some of the six dogs are still struggling. Here is what her foster dad writes:
“Meet Alala. She is an extremely shy girl. In her current foster home she has chosen to bond with only one of the household members. She likes to follow her person from room to room and hang out. Even with her bonded person it is difficult to get her to pick her up, she will run and hide to her "safe spot". She is a bit apprehensive around the people she is not bonded too (unless food is involved). She loves to sit on laps and give kisses. She can be a little guardy in this situation. She is also very jealous of anyone who gets attention from her bonded person.
She seems fine with other dogs but is not super playful in her foster home she is more of a couch potato. She will use pee pads. She does like the backyard in her foster home and will usually get the zoomies in the backyard. It appears she does not use stairs or is leashes trained.
She does have a little separation anxiety. So deally Alala would probably do well in a home with someone who could be with her most of the day, or with other friendly dogs her size. She does have a little separation anxiety.”
