My story

Tuck - Shit Tzu Mix - Male - 7 Years - www.twyla.org

If you'd like to know more about this dog please visit our website at www.Twyla.org

Tucker is a 7-8 year old Shih Tzu mix that weighs about 12 pounds who came us after his family could no longer adequately care for him. Tucker doesn't like being left home alone for long periods of time, as he bonds strongly with his person. In his foster home, someone is usually home and there are other dogs of similar size and energy to keep him company, so he's quite happy & content.
Tucker is a sweet and mellow boy and would be a great lapdog. He is crate trained but likes to sleep on a doggy bed at night, & he does not mark or have any indoor accidents.

Tucker would do best with an owner that either works from home, a retired couple, or a family that has a stay at home mom. Tucker enjoys going on walks, cuddling & taking naps on your lap.  He is up-to-date on all of his shots, heartworm negative & is microchipped.

***Please note: All dogs are fostered in private homes of volunteers, so to meet a dog please fill out an Adoption Application on our website (http://www.twyla.org/adopt/our-adoption-process) so we may setup a private meetup with the dog or coordinate for an Introduction at the next general Adoption Meet and Greet (as listed on our website: (http://www.twyla.org/upcoming-events), as not all dogs attend all Meet and Greets***

Why adoption is a great option

Tuck, a Kingwood Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Kingwood, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Kingwood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Kingwood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Kingwood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Kingwood paves the way for another one to be saved.
