My story

“Hi! My name is Stella and I am an American Staffordshire Terrier mix. I’m what you might call a “hobbit” because I’m about 5-6 years only and only about 40 pounds and on the shorter side, but I make up for it in love!

I love nothing more than cuddling on the couch with my foster mom. I could lay there for hours with her. I also am very affectionate and love to give kisses if you’ll let me! But I won’t hold it against you if you don’t want them.

I’m house trained and show zero food aggression. However, I’m super curious and assertive around other dogs and would do best in a home with no dogs or with a *very* submissive one. I can be super strong too when I’m on a leash so I would do best in a home with older children. But I promise I will love them will all my heart!

My foster mom doesn’t know much about my history – only that my time was up at the shelter where I was at – but I am so excited to have a forever family all of my own to love forever if someone will give me a chance. I can’t wait to meet you!”

Stella is 6 years old, 40 lbs, spayed, microchipped, and UTD on shots!

*Note* -- Stella is currently being fostered in NC where she was saved from a kill shelter. Prospective adopters will have a virtual meet-and-greet prior to northern transport being arranged.

As a foster-based rescue, our pets in need are located in foster homes from SC up through the Northeast.

More about this rescue

We are a foster-based 501c3 animal rescue comprised of a small team of volunteers. Our mission is to help animals in critical need both in shelters and in the community at large. In order to fulfill that mission, we rely on the willingness of fosters and adopters to open up their hearts and homes, and the generosity of our followers and supporters to donate towards veterinary care, supplies, transport, boarding, and other related expenses.
