Meet our sensational senior, Manatee! Manatee is a PURE BRED American Pit Bull Terrier. That's right! We have the DNA test results to prove it! And some people think you can't find a fancy, pure bred pet at an animal shelter. Manatee is here to prove that wrong. Along with other misconceptions. Like, how some people think senior pets lack energy and pizzazz. Nope, not Miss Manatee! This girl has spunk! She goes on daily 2 mile walks with her foster mom. And believe it or not, Manatee had surgery on both of her hips. She was a champ through her surgeries, was as sweet as can be during the process, and is now fully recovered. However, this gal would prefer a home without stairs. Manatee has had several lumps and bumps removed, but she continues to live a very healthy, active lifestyle. Manatee LOVES people! Hasn't met a stranger, yet. She does have a requirement for her forever home. It must be one in which LOTS of belly rubs are given! She likes to plop down near people in order to ensure those belly rubs. She is one smart cookie.
They say age is just a number. And this pure bred American Pit Bull is here to show the world that she has life to live. It is evident from her happy smile and her wagging tail.
