My story

Hello, Sunny here, and here's my story:

I was just a tiny little pup when a rural county animal control officer dropped me off at the rescue. I was in rough shape, malnourished, belly full of parasites, fleas, and toxins that were coming out of my skin. It was determined that I had ingested toxins and it was coming out of my skin in pustules all over my face and body. Ew. I know yuck right?

Anyhow, I am thankful for my foster mom who took good care of me and nurtured me to good health. I love her. I was on the right path and on my way to finding a family!

At 5/6 months old a nice younger couple in St Augustine adopted me. They had me on a quality diet and I continued to thrive. My skin and coat looked amazing, I looked so good I could have been on the cover of "Dogster" and all seemed perfect. Until...

One day my pet parents moved in with another family who had two unaltered male dogs of their own. They didn't like me, I don't understand why because I am a good boy. So after 3/4 years, I was returned to the rescue.

I would love to find a warm and loving home to call my own.

Someone who will treat me like family, keep me safe, feed me nutritious quality food, let me on the couch and sleep on a soft cozy bed. Toys are great too, of and treat (nothing from China) Mom says that's bad too. She knows a lot and I believe her.

I am good with most dogs (non-reactive ones) Older children are recommended because I'm told I'm a little clumsy and rambunctious at times but I listen well. I love car rides, long walks, a trip to Dunkin for a pup cup but fosters Mom says sugar feeds cancer and too much is bad, I only get them every so often. I would love to find a home where I can stay for my lifetime. Oh, and also a fully fenced-in yard to safely use the bathroom and play but I will only play if I have a friend or you hang out with me. I don't care to be outside by myself, I prefer companionship.

I will chase cats I haven't caught one yet.

Well, thank you for reading my story, I hope I find outstanding pet parents, I know you're out there somewhere. I'll be waiting patiently.

Peace and love,

Sunny

Additional adoption info

Their Lives, Our Voices on-line adoption application is located at: http://tlovrescue.org/adoption-applications/

We kindly ask for an adoption donation to help with the vetting and care needed for the rescues that have been saved, which almost always requires more than the basic vetting.
The adoption donation can range from $80-$200. We can assure the cost of vetting and ongoing care provided far exceeds their adoption donation.

We require the adopter to be at least 21 years of age.

More about this rescue

Their Lives, Our Voices is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization based in Putnam County and Saint Augustine, Florida. We are a privately owned rescue organization that relies solely on donations and outstanding volunteers and fosters.

We Rescue, Rehabilitate, and Re-home the abused, neglected, special needs, seniors and unwanted animals. We love them all and believe they deserve a second chance.

Our goal is to be that beacon of light for the animals from small rural Counties and cities from Putnam County's shelters and surrounding areas. The goal is to find the best possible families or individuals who will love and care for them as a cherished family member.

Each volunteer works hard to ensure that every canine and feline goes to the right stable family and loving home.
While in our care each animal is nurtured back to health, fully vetted, loved and does our best to set them up for a successful next journey.
