My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi friend! My name is Asher. Although I'm typically a very happy guy, I've recently been a bit sad. You see, I have been in foster care for over a year with no adoption interest. My foster mom said that a lot of folks are nervous to adopt a kitty with special needs, but I don't understand. I'm a total lover, and I adore attention, belly rubs, and being held like a baby. I enjoy a good cuddle session on the couch as well and have a very loud purr motor. I'll also give the occasional kiss on the nose and will help groom your face, no matter how clean it may already be. I do well with other cats and dogs, and my foster mom says I have the funniest personality. I'm really the total package, which is why I don't understand this whole special needs nonsense stopping someone from adopting me.

So why am I special needs? Well, I  was turned into the shelter when I was just 4 weeks old, and it’s suspected that someone pulled my tail and caused nerve damage in my spine. Because of this, I need a little help going to the bathroom. My foster mom expresses my bladder 2-3 times a day, and she says I'm the best boy because I'm so cooperative for potty time. I also require a raw food diet, but hey, the bonus is that you don't have to clean a litter pan with me!

If you would only give me a chance, I promise I will bring you lots of love and entertainment. My foster mom also says that caring for me is easy peasy once you get in a routine, so please don’t let my needs stand in the way of considering me as your new family member.

Asher’s adoption fee is $75 and includes his neuter, Rabies and FVRCP vaccinations, microchip, FIV/FELV testing and deworming. For more information or to submit an application, please email You can also see more pictures and videos of Asher on Instagram @liberationcathouse.

More about this rescue

We are a non-profit organization that exists to save the lives of at-risk cats and kittens in the Central Florida area. This is primarily done through fostering those that are sick and/or medically needy until they are healthy and old enough to be placed in a forever home.

We believe that saving more lives can be accomplished through educating others on the importance of spaying and neutering as well as through safe and effective trap-neuter-vaccinate-return (TNvR) practices.

We live by the conviction that compassion for animals applies to all species, not just cats.
