My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rocky is a handsome and personable young Chocolate Lab Mix looking for a forever home of his own. He’s very playful, energetic, and wonderful with people and other dogs (we are not sure about cats).

Rocky is believed to be about 2 years old, weighing about 65 lbs.

Rocky joined us from downstate Illinois, when his time was up and he was scheduled to be euthanized. We are so grateful we learned about Rocky and could help him start his new life. He’s a wonderful boy with a lot of potential to be a perfect family member. During his time in our Safe House, Rocky has proven himself to be a quick learner and is eager to please. He’s learned to take treats nicely, and is now potty trained. He continues to work on his leash manners, and learning to walk calmly on a leash.

An ideal home for Rocky is one with Labrador Retriever experience, and that understands their youthful and energetic behavior, can offer Rocky a secure, fenced yard and possibly a young playmate like himself. Rocky likely would do well with children over the age of 8 years old, but he might be too energetic and strong for younger children. As with all of our dogs, we are looking for adopters with a solid and consistent vet history for current and/or past dogs

Rocky is fully vetted, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on year-round heartworm prevention, neutered and microchipped.
