My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Alexx is 1-2 years old and weighs 60 pounds. He is a gorgeous husky/white german shepherd mix. He was rescued by a kind woman: Barbara. She found him in a commercial vehicle yard while leaving food for strays on the streets, too agile to be able to catch. Alexx apporached Barb and looked terrible. He was skinny, scared, dirty, flea-infested, with his eyes, ears and skin irritated. Barb tried to get close to him and he trusted her to allow her to pet him. Barbara called Poochmatch to see if we could help and we had an available spot for a large breed! She was able to get him into her car and off to our vet's office. After two weeks in foster care, with veterinary attention and professional grooming, Alexx's fur is white and not grey after having gotten a much needed bath. Scared at first, Alexx has evolved into a loving, happy dog. He adores humans, new people included, and embraces affection. He is ecstatic to see his family and has become quite loyal. He is eager-to-please and learns quickly. He does well with other medium-large breed dogs. He can be a bit dominant with other dogs, so a home without an alpha dog in it is mandatory. He actually often checks on other dogs to ensure they aren't being too rough with each other when playing. He will separate them if he thinks things are too rowdy. He aims to please and is submissive with humans. He has a delicate soul and the sweetest personality. Alexx would love a home to adore him!

If you are interested in meeting any Poochmatch dog, please visit our website to complete an adoption application. It is in the ADOPTION folder at the top of our home page. Just fill in the blanks and SEND.
We commonly receive multiple applications for a single dog. Nevertheless, only one applicant will be invited to meet a dog on Saturday at Petsmart in Yorba Linda between noon and 3 pm OR on a mutually agreeable day, time and place during the week. I am confident he will acclimate well into a new environment with a gentle loving family.

All adoption fees cover the mandatory and non-negotiable spay/neuter, rabies, microchip, microchip registration, full sets of core vaccinations (rabies and 1 set of distemper/parvo for adults, 4 for puppies) and deworming. Adoption fees vary based on age, breed, size and the costs incurred on the dog's behalf by us i.e. medical, behavioral training, etc.
