My story

Sophie is a pretty cat 8-year old (estimated age as of 3/19/21) with Van colors.  Her foster parent says she has a quirky and delightful personality.  She will talk to you to get your full attention—she requires you to pet her with two hands, -- you can’t be doing anything else at the same time.   She enjoys being near you; however, she isn’t a lap cat.  If she’s in a playful mood, she will play with interactive toys with you. She also entertains herself with her favorite toy, the 3-level tower track.  Sophie is considered a special needs cat because she is blind in one eye and has limited vision in the other eye.  She is shy at first with people she doesn’t know and it takes her a while to get used to changes in her life.  She must be an only pet because she is easily stressed and intimidated by other pets.   She needs a quiet home with someone who is patient and who will give her time to adjust and feel secure.

More about this rescue

Mission Statement: The Cat Network is an all-volunteer, not-for-profit, 501(c) (3), no-kill and life-enhancing cat rescue group. Since 1991, we have rescued and placed thousands of abandoned, abused, stray and shelter cats and kittens in St. Louis, Missouri and surrounding areas. After their rescue, the cats and kittens are provided medical care, tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV, micro-chipped and spayed or neutered. Cats and kittens are kept in foster care and then placed in loving permanent homes whenever possible.
