My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hux is a big beautiful orange tabby boy. He is partially deaf. We believe he has some hearing, but most likely less than 30%. He may improve over time.
He loves to play, and can be very affectionate. He loves to sleep on the bed with you and he is a very good cat for reading with. Hux is afraid of fast movements, and will hide. he has been trained to hide in his carrier, and this would be a good idea to keep up in a new home. Hux would be a good fit for a single adult or a couple. He needs TIME to get used to a new home. Deaf cats need a little extra time to adjust. We are looking for an experienced adopter who understands deaf cats.

More about this rescue

We are a partnership between Camden County College Student Vet Tech program, Alfred University Student Vet Tech program, and Renaissance Cats Sanctuary. We help cats who linger in shelters because of special needs. Many of our cats are NOT special needs, but may have come to us because of special circumstances. We try to fill in the gap where traditional rescues cannot help.
