My story

"Every champion was once a contender who refused to give up. - Rocky Balboa

Meet our very own Rocky! Are you HIS champion?

Rocky is a beautiful 4-year-old, 65-lb. Labrador/hound mix who is crate trained, dog friendly and gets along with cats. We don't know why, but he doesn't always trust people, in particular, strangers. You could say that Rocky is a bit of a "fixer upper. Like most fixer-uppers, he has a whole lot of potential for anyone(s) who can see it - and the good news is that there will be no demolition day or tearing down walls. All you need is a kind heart and a dose of patience for a dog who wants to be loved and cared for, like we all do.

Rocky has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and is on flea/tick & heartworm prevention. If you'd like to meet this beautiful boy, click on the 'Adopt' tab to read more about the adoption process and the link for our online adoption application!

Go meet their pets

Where are you located? Pawsitive Tails does not have a physical location. All of our dogs live in loving foster homes throughout the Kansas City and Topeka area. This allows fosters to get to know each dog personally, so we can find the very best home for them. What are your hours? As a foster based rescue, every person with Pawsitive Tails is a volunteer. Because we do not have a facility, we do not have “open” hours but can be contacted between 8am and 9pm. Can I stop in to visit dogs and play with puppies? No. We require an approved application to be on file before meeting our dogs/puppies. In addition, our dogs live in foster homes, so we must work around the foster parents’ schedule.

More about this rescue

Pawsitive Tails strives to be something different in the animal adoption community. We simply want to help dogs and puppies find new homes by matching the right dog to the right family. Pawsitive Tails is a not for profit organization focused on finding forever homes for dog and puppies. We are not a shelter and we do not have a facility - all the dogs in our program live in foster homes.
