My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bronson is a 3 yr old, 98lb, fully vetted Rottweiler. He is available for adoption through our HMR East chapter in Virginia. He is an amazing dog who is highly intelligent, extremely food motivated to train with and would make an excellent agility dog. Not into that dog sport? What about dancing? Bronson loves to dance and has learned quite a few moves on the floor. As long as Big Handsome Hunk gets to play ball, swim and follow you around, he would be one happy guy. The PERFECT home for Bronson will be: 1. Large, private yard to exercise in. He does not do well at dog parks. 2. Bronson has shown little interest in playing with other dogs and will be completely content as the sole dog to get all of your attention. 3. A family who is home a lot and enjoys yard time. He loves to follow you around while waiting for a ball to fall from the sky. 4. A pond, swimming pool, etc to cool off in and exercise. Bronson absolutely LOVES water. 5. To share a home with doggie friends, Bronson requires dogs with wagging tails who want to be friends. Dogs who are scared, dominant will not be a good match. He has had exposure to my grandkids aged 7 and 9 and is fine around them. The kids know how to act around large dogs, as they have grown up with them and actually help me with training. He is home and crate trained, knows basic commands (sit-down-come-stay), is not afraid of bad weather or loud noises and enjoys meeting new people, dogs with wagging tails who want to be friends. Dogs who are scared, dominant will not be a good match. Bronson has it all and to a family with the love of Rotties in their hearts, he's your boy. Bronson shows a little too much interest in cats and we cannot recommend him to a cat loving home. He requires a fenced yard (if it happens to have a pond on a few acres he would be in doggy Heaven). The fence is required for HIS protection because of his breed. Bronson is not a "runner" and listens well off lead. Hail Mary Rescue Adoption Application is in place to make sure You, your Family and our Dogs are matched correctly to the best of our ability. Our adoption fee is $200.00 Louisiana residents and $400.00 for dogs brought up to our Virginia area due to transport costs. All of our dogs are fully vetted and micro chipped. Without accurate information, we cannot guarantee a good match. After all, isn't this what it's all about when adopting your Forever Companion? We want our dogs to succeed and be happy. We match our dogs according to the information YOU answer here. If the dog you are interested in is not suitable, we will be more than happy to try and find one who is. Southeast Louisiana has an overpopulation of unwanted dogs turned into area shelters daily. If you do not plan on keeping our dogs updated with Heartworm Prevention, please do not apply. Every application is responded to by our adoption coordinators. Submitting the application does NOT mean the dog is yours. We are all Volunteers so please give us time to match you up with a wonderful dog. Hail Mary Rescue requires vet checks and at times home checks. Once your 14 day “trial adoption period” is complete, and you decide to adopt, you will be asked in our contract to have an invoice from your vet emailed to us showing you have established your dog as a client and have bought the HW prevention. Each of our dogs are unique with different requirements to adopt. Please read carefully to ensure this one is for you.

Hail Mary Rescue, a 501c3 nonprofit Animal Rescue, saves dogs from southeast Louisiana shelters. It is a foster-based rescue with an intake facility, which gives pets the opportunity to live in home settings where they are house and crate trained, learn basic obedience commands, and are well socialized, many with children and other dogs. Exposure to cats depends on the foster's home. All dogs are completely vetted, vaccinated, spay/neutered, and micro-chipped prior to adoption. We have 2 locations. Hail Mary Rescue South (By New Orleans)/Hail Mary Rescue East (By Danville Virginia)
