Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Up for adoption in New England and the Northern East Coast: Kye.
Kye is a handsome three-year-old, 65-70lb black lab mix. He is playful, loving, smart, and housebroken. He knows the basic commands, walks very well on a leash, takes treats gently, and sits politely while you dish out his meals. He loves to play tug and fetch with his favorite human but will also entertain himself with a toy. If you’re home, he prefers to be near you, napping close by or at your side for a head scratch and belly rub. If you’re not around, he’ll be napping or playing with a toy on his own. If you’re in a different room and call his name, he’ll come running to you. Kye is not a jumper but may need positive reinforcement to stay on four paws when a really, really, tasty treat is being handed out – but who can blame him?! He will wait his turn for a treat when other dogs are around.
Kye is cautious about meeting new people but after a few minutes, he warms up and will be happy to take treats from his new friend. He has always lived with other dogs and would enjoy having dog siblings. He likes to run around and play with his four-legged friends and to go for walks to sniff all the great smells together. Kye is currently in a home with two other dogs and he is relaxed around them and respectful of their space. Kye would be extremely happy to be in a home where he can continue to go on walks and play outside.
Kye looks to his humans to feel comfortable and safe and would do best in a home with adults or older children (teenagers). He is so loveable - all it takes is to catch his eye and you’ll immediately hear the thump-thump of his tail wagging. He will be your very best friend. Kye was originally adopted from Lucky Lab but his owner moved in with his grandchildren and Kye did not do well with younger kids and the hustle and bustle. So we'd recommend no visiting grandkids, neighbor's kids or future children that might be on the way to his future family.
Kye is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Apply at www.luckylabrescue.com
