My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Inquire at: inu.goya@outlook.com
Name: Eve
Breed: Belgian Malinois
DOB/Sex: 9/26/19 FS
Known Health Issues: Hip Dysplasia RH. No surgical recommendations at this time. Keep lean, and appropriately exercise to maintain fitness.
Good With: Dogs with proper management. NO DOG PARKS. NO CATS. Adult only home.

Eve has some of the weakest nerves of any dog that has come through Inugoya. She has a hard time handling pressure, and is quick to trigger into full flight mode if she is uncomfortable. The good news is - she's made a lot of progress since her arrival! When Eve first arrived, she was terrified of other dogs, and would scream if they approached. She has worked through this and now enjoys the company of appropriately matched canine friends. She enjoys being the one chased, though does not do well if the catcher tries to corner, or pin her. She currently enjoys company with Chelsea, Crystal, Griffin, and previously Laila & Nala. She is also okay with my laid back seniors, and is currently enjoying Nala's litter now that they are older and "more dog like". Due to her drive when it kicks in, I would not be comfortable placing her in a home with cats.

As you might have suspected, Eve is incredibly athletic. She enjoys climbing, and jumping, and will do so at every opportunity. If she can go up and over, instead of around, she will! Unfortunately she has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia, and her body will not be able to keep up with her mind, with high impact activities. However her mind is sharp, and there are still plenty of activities to explore together. She is a fan of water as well, which is an excellent form of low impact exercise for her. Someone interested in working with her through physiotherapy will be to her benefit as well. Her ball drive is low, but exists. She loves tug, and is also quite food motivated. We recently tried lure coursing and she really enjoyed it!

She bonds very closely, and enjoys physical closeness with her person. She has a history of reacting to unfamiliar persons in her space, and has those challenges at the vet as well. This is not unusual for her breed. Eve is a gorgeous girl, full of potential! With the right partner she will blossom, and continue to gain confidence in the world around. If she sounds like the right companion for you, and you have the dedication, she looks forward to hearing from you!
