My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**SALEM HAS BEEN ADOPTED!** Salem is an adorable, outgoing, social, curious, and very playful little pup looking for her forever home. This adorable girl was rescued from an overburdened animal control facility in rural eastern Kentucky with eight littermates (Simon, Scotch, Scooby, Scarlet, Sundae, Sugar, and Skyler). We do not know what type of dogs her parents were, but it appears there is some Boxer and possibly Collie or Australian Shepherd in their lineage. Their breed mix is an educated guess, but we know for sure these pups are 100% adorable and 1,000% sweetness! Salem is approximately 11 weeks old (10/4) and weighs around 14 pounds. Given her current age and weight, we expect she will be a medium to a larger-sized dog when fully grown, probably somewhere in the 45-60 pound range. Salem loves making new friends and loves to play! She will thrive in an active household with the time and energy to keep up with a young, working breed pup! Boxers and Collies are brilliant and energetic dogs that do best in homes that provide plenty of daily mental and physical stimulation. Salem is working on her crate training and housebreaking and is doing very well when kept on a regular schedule. Please keep in mind that puppies this age need frequent potty breaks (every 3-4 hours) and lots of playtime during the day for the next several months, so please consider if you truly have the time for a puppy before applying. Salem's adoption fee to the rescue is $475. This fee helps to cover her spay and other costs associated with preparing her for adoption. She is up-to-date with age-appropriate vaccines, is microchipped, and is taking monthly flea and heartworm prevention. Salem is ready and anxious to go home today!

• Salem is in a foster home in Chicago and can be seen by appointment only after an application has been received and approved. For more info or an application, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com or visit palsplacrescue.org/adopt/

• We cannot place holds on our dogs for more than a few days after an application has been received and approved for a meeting. Therefore, please do not apply to adopt unless you are ready to welcome a dog into your home within three days of applying.

Pal's Place relies solely on donations to care for the pets in our care. • The adoption fee for these puppies is $475. This donation helps cover necessary medical to prepare them for adoption, including their spay/neuter, initial vaccines, initial worming, and microchip. Your donation also helps save other animals like this little family from euthanasia.

• Please email Palsplace1@hotmail.com for an adoption application, and please put the dog's name in the subject line. Also, please be sure to check your spam/junk folder; sometimes, the applications end up in there.

• All of our dogs in foster homes can be seen BY APPOINTMENT ONLY after an approved application has been received. To receive more info, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com. Email is the preferred method of contact and is the quickest way to receive a response. Unfortunately, we cannot place holds on our dogs. Please do not contact us until you are prepared to adopt.
