My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please read full description before applying to adopt.

Available for adoption put will not be able to go home until after he heals from his neuter which is scheduled for 10-13-21. No rentals and a physical fenced in yard is required for this young and active boy.

This handsome guy is Hank and he is a 6 month old Border Collie and Great Pyrenees mix who weighs just over 50 pounds and still has some growing to do!
Hank was an owner surrender as he was just too energetic for the young children in the home and Hank needed more exercise than his previous family were able to provide.

Hank is a super friendly, energetic, and outgoing dog who LOVES people! He doesn't know a stranger and loves to be pet while leaning against your legs. Hank also loves running and playing in the yard and chasing tennis balls when thrown. Although he hasn't quite figured out how to bring them back yet.
Hank knows the commands sit and laydown and he takes treats very gently. He is housetrained and walks pretty well on a leash but does need some training on not jumping up when he gets excited. Hank is still a pup and will need routine and consistent training to help him grow up to be the best dog we know he can be. He has a lot of energy which is to be expected with a young Border Collie mix and he needs a physically fenced yard at his new home to have unrestricted playtime and burn off some of his energy.
Hank's previous home did not have any other animals so we are not sure how he would do with cats but he seems friendly towards the other dogs here at the shelter. He would need to meet any dog(s) in a prospective home to make sure everyone gets along.
Due to Hank's size and energy level he will need a home with children 8 years and older as he just doesn't realize how big he is and will knock small children over. Hank would be a great companion for an active preteen or teen!

If you would like to apply to adopt Hank please send us an email at hslucascounty@yahoo.com and request an application!

Hank's adoption fee is $100.00. His adoption fee includes all of his Vet work.
