My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Arrow: Arrow aka Zachary is up for adoption because his current adopter is returning him because he moved to a new home and he can only have 3 dog’s and no Pit breeds. The adopter adopted Arrow and his sister over a year ago and is keeping his sister because she looks less scary then Arrow. Adopter also took in two small dogs a friend of his had to rehome and so now he wants Arrow gone. Our hearts are breaking for Arrow and we need a loving home for Arrow. Arrow has a high prey drive and is very rambunctious and when he smells something he wants to pursue, he will!!  Children in home should be over 12 years of age as he doesn't realize his size and strenght.

Arrow is a Bully mix that is 3.5yrs and weighs 60-65lbs.  Arrow is a lovable and energetic guy. Arrow loved to play with his sister and run around the yard. He is somewhat obiendiant and easily trainable. He is housebroken and is up to date on all his shots and neutered. Arrow loves people but will need to be an only pet. Arrow will need a home with a fenced in yard and a family with big/strong dog experience. Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Thank you for your interest in possibly adopting one of our rescues!

Charlie's Crusaders Pet Rescue (CCPR) offers two adoption programs, a Foster-to-Adopt and Transport-Foster-to-Adopt Program. Our Foster-to-Adopt Program is for pets that have already been transported and/or living with a foster family in your area. In this case, after your adoption application and home have been approved, we will set up a meet-n-greet with you (your family and any other pets), the pet you are interested in, and it's foster caretaker. If you think the pet would be a great fit, you will be able to foster him/her in your home for a two week trial period before committing to a final adoption.

In many cases, mostly due to a lack of available foster homes, our rescues are on a waiting list to get transported to the PA, tri-state area. So, another popular option with many of our adopters—in order to secure the pet they are interested in—is our Transport-Foster-To-Adopt Program. If the pet you want is currently out-of-state, after your adoption application and home have been approved, we would have the pet transported to a transfer location closest to you within a week or two. You would meet the transport and pick up your rescue at a pre-designated location, then foster him/her in your home for a two week trial period before committing to a final adoption.

We work closely with you as needed to help make your rescue’s transition into your home and your adoption experience enjoyable and as successful as possible. This includes, if at any point, you find you and your adoptable pet are not a good fit, we will find someone else to foster or adopt him/her, then additionally help you find a rescue who is a better fit for you and your family.

ADOPTION FEE
A final, tax-deductable adoption donation of $450 is kindly requested. This covers the $200 cost of transportation, plus a $250 donation to offset any needed medical and care expenses after rescue.

This donation is not a fee or sale price, but a request to defer or reimburse rescuer for any and all medical expenses and transportation costs, or any other expenses incurred by the dog or rescuer to consider dog for adoption. This fee is non-refundable once final payment has been received.

More about this rescue

Charlie's Crusaders Pet Rescue is a non-profit organization and an all volunteer, foster based rescue comprised of a group of passionate dog lovers whose mission is to rescue, provide sanctuary, and ultimately to re-home abandoned, stray and neglected dogs in the Mid-South. We rescue from Mississippi and Tennessee and surrounding areas where almost all the shelters are extremely high kill, and then we transport them up North. We adopt out to any state, but specialize in adoption to Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Connecticut, New York, Rhode Island, Virginia, Ohio and Delaware.

Once in our care, Charlie's Crusaders Pet Rescue dogs are housed in private foster homes or non-kill safe houses where they are provided with an enormous amount of love and attention. All our rescues are vet checked, updated on all vaccines, spayed/neutered, and evaluated for temperament and personality. This helps us to place them in homes that are well suited to their needs and to the needs of their future owners. We then work to get them transported to foster homes and potential adopters in the Northeast. While in foster care, we teach house training and basic obedience until they find their forever homes.
