My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kismet is a very lovable cat! She can be a little shy at first, but once she gets comfortable with you, she loves to have her head scratched and she does a cute little turn when you pet her! She doesn't mind being held, either. She has food allergies and is on a special food diet, so she may have to be an only cat, to keep her from eating any other foods she shouldn't be. Other than that, Kismet is a truly wonderful cat that would make an incredible addition to your home!

More about this shelter

Our shelter had it's beginnings in the mid 90's and formally became a nonprofit organization in 2001. The dream of Lee and Sophia DiClemente has grown to be the largest no-kill animal shelter in New Mexico. Lee passed in 2010, but Sophia carries on with the support of a small staff, a large number of volunteers, and numerous donors - large and small.
