SITKA is a 10 month old, sweet, lab husky mix. Her foster believes she has the best traits of both breeds.
She gets along with dogs of all sizes but needs a few moments to trust they won’t hurt her.
She needs time with new people as well. She is on the submissive side most of the time. She has been around a toddler who she adored and played with.
SITKA has spent her whole life with only 3 usable legs, but it doesn’t keep her down. She can jump on beds, couches, and even over short room barriers. She can go up and down stairs with ease, though it’s not recommended she do flights of stairs on a daily basis.
SITKA is medium energy. Her favorite activities are playing with other dogs and giving her people snuggles and hugs. She is a homebody, preferring to stay home over anything else. Even when she goes for walks, she can’t get back in the house fast enough.
Taking care of SITKA's remaining limbs and spine is definitely a focus for her future. FFAR has agreed to help get a prosthetic for SITKA that would help with longer walks, but that cannot happen until she is fully grown.
SITKA will need a secure fully fenced yard because she’s proven that she’s capable of jumping over barriers.
She is housebroken, and will ring a bell to go outside. She is also crate-trained. She will need to be monitored if she is out and about because the is still a typical puppy and likes to chew on things she shouldn’t.
SITKA is looking for a home where she can be an indoor dog to get lots of love and snuggles and hopefully other dogs to play with.
SITKA is spayed, current on vaccines, and microchipped, so ready for her furever home.
