My story

Meet Rio. Rio is a handsome, gentle, playful young gu who is friendly, loving and eager to learn. He is medium/large young chocolate lab mix, approximately 1.5 yo and 55 lbs. When Rio first came to Jelly's he was shy and scared of new people or any changes in his environment. He has made progress and is now much more well adjusted and comfortable around new people and new environments. Rio is full of energy and would benefit greatly from a long daily run or hike or a walk on the beach where he can frolic in the water. He is incredibly gentle taking treats and is very food motivated. He gets along great with other dogs and has had play dates with a number of other dogs at Jelly's Place. He is crate trained and potty trained. Rio recently completed training with a professional trainer. He walks great on a leash. The trainer is willing to donate one training session to whoever adopts Rio so that they can continue his training. The perfect adopter for Rio would be an active person with dog experience willing to provide the consistency and training he needs. Based on his energy level and size, we recommend that he be in a home with older children. Another dog would be wonderful for him. Rio is UTD on vaccines, microchipped and neutered. Applications are being accepted at www.jellysplace.org/forms and qualified applicants will be contacted.November 21, 2022, 5:11 am

More about this shelter

Jelly's Place is a rescue and No-kill shelter founded in 2017 to be an advocate for the lives and dignity of urban animals who are homeless, abandoned, impounded, sick, or injured, by providing responsible care, placement, and community education. Its founder, Julie Bainbridge, has been rescuing and fostering animals since childhood. She has rescued, fostered, and /or raised all kinds of animals, including baby squirrels, raccoons, pigeons, chickens, geese, ducks, skunks (yes- skunks), wild and tropical birds, pigmey goats, mice, snakes, rabbits, dogs, and cats. Some animals are cared for by volunteers in their homes.
Jelly's Place is named in memory of her beloved English Bulldog who crossed over the Rainbow bridge in 2016. Jelly's Place is a 501 (3)(c) nonprofit organization and donations are tax deductible.
Jelly's Place depends on donations, grants, and volunteers to foster and care for animals.
