My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Polly!

We estimate that she is about 3-4 years old and she came from our shelter partners in Texas. Polly is outgoing, friendly and affectionate. If you are looking for an active dog who loves to play as much as she loves to relax, Polly is your girl! She is housebroken and enjoys taking walks/hikes (though she could benefit from leash training). She loves, loves, loves other dogs! She lays down in the back seat for car rides, occasionally sitting up to take a peek or sniff out the window. She even has a funny way of “talking” with you!

When she was with our friends at The Snuggery they said "Polly has been the perfect little lady while she has been in our care. She does well in all of her play groups, socializing with many different temperaments. She engages her canine pals and has a great time with them while still checking in with her handler and choosing to be with her person after she has had enough play. She is a great mix for someone who wants a very dog social pet, but still attentive to people also. Polly is very treat motivated so she should do wonderful in obedience classes or any other canine activity. She loves hugs and kisses and is very kind. We cannot say enough good things about her. She wants to please and she deserves the very best!"

Here is a video of her when Candy the owner of the Snuggery came into the yard. Heartwarming :https://youtu.be/tN6AoJ2A4po

When she first came to us she was skin and bones. She has come along way and is now ready of a home of her own. Shortly after her arrival we learned she can sit and shake. Watch video here: https://youtu.be/8z8enjsyVv4

We don't know her breed as we don't know her parents, but she sure does look like a red merle Louisiana Catahoula Leopard dog. So quite possibly that is her mix. One of her eyes has blue on a portion of it.

Adoption Process:

- please fill out our adoption application: https://www.dayofthedogs.org/adoption-application

- one of our team members will get back to you.

- our dogs can be seen by appointment only after an approved application has been received.

- Adoption fee helps to cover spay/neuter, initial vaccines, rabies, initial worming, and microchip.

-We cannot place holds on our dogs. Please do not contact us until you are prepared to adopt.

NOTE: We are very good about updating the pet's profiles once adopted. So no need to write us to ask "Is he/she still available?" If the post is up, the dog is still available.
