My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Scooby!

Scooby just arrived to us from Texas. He is a great dog!

He was a stray about a year ago. The family that found him and took him in love him dearly. They had him at a ranch where they have lots of dogs. Their oldest biggest dog just didn't like Scooby. The wife was balling when she drove him to a foster with a rescue in Texas.
He is great with people and dogs.

He has no food aggression. See in this video here: https://youtu.be/scYxJ0ahffA

Was kept loose with other dogs at the foster house and did just fine with no issues.
When the foster left the house she would crate him and had a camera in the room. He would just rest in his crate while she was away.
She also tested leaving the house and leaving him loose with her dogs. She left for 2 hours and watched the camera. He was good and calm. no anxiety.
He has a little stuffed giraffe toy that he loves

Here is a video of him with a 3 yr old boy: https://youtu.be/OiJpY7cFavM
The entire time he was with the boy he didn't jump on him or bother him much. He was more interested in the smells in the yard

We are guessing his is about 1 yr, 60lbs, neutered and heartworm negative. The breed guess is just a guess. We don't know his parents so you guess is as good as ours

Adoption Process:

- please fill out our adoption application: https://www.dayofthedogs.org/adoption-application

- one of our team members will get back to you.

- our dogs can be seen by appointment only after an approved application has been received. We do not have a facility. Dogs are in foster homes or boarding

- Adoption fee helps to cover spay/neuter, initial vaccines, rabies, fecal, initial worming, and microchip.

-We cannot place holds on our dogs. Please do not contact us until you are prepared to adopt.

NOTE: We are very good about updating the pet's profiles once adopted. So no need to write us to ask "Is he/she still available?" If the post is up, the dog is still available.

About Us:
Day of the Dogs is a 501c3 nonprofit that is dedicated to helping shelters increase live release. We coordinate 2 - 4 transports per month from TX, OK and AR to NW Indiana/Chicagoland area. We do direct adoptions ourselves out of Dyer, IN area and partner with 12 other rescues and shelters in both IL and IN that are willing to help southern pets in need.
We rely on donations to help fund our ongoing transports. Please donate if you can. Every dollar adds up and we are grateful for any help we can get: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/DayoftheDogs
