My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name: Zeus
Breed: German Shepherd
Approx. 8-9 Years as of October 2022
Sex: Male
Weight: 78 lbs
Good with Dogs: With female dogs only
Good with Cats: Yes, has met rescue cat appropriately
Good with Kids: Yes, although ages 12 and up required if any at all.

Zeus is a beautiful GSD who is a warrior in this life- he’s overcome that much! Zeus came to us originally with the rest of his family (whom have all been adopted). Zeus’ life prior to coming to the rescue was a hard one of living outside and fighting for scraps; hence the scars on his face.

Zeus, as a result of his past, has come a long way in his socialization with humans in his time with us, but is still considered by the average public to be “skittish.” He loves having a safe space, his crate, to go to when the world is too much.

Zeus will need a family that can see past the scars on his face to the loving, tender heart beneath, and is patient and kind with him. Zeus loves to play with other dogs when he thinks no one is watching; seeing him kick up his heels is the sort of wholesome delight we appreciate.

Zeus would benefit from multiple meet and greets with his potential family, to ensure maximum comfort for both family and Zeus. He also must have a fully fenced in yard. For these reasons we are only accepting local applications.

Peach County Animal Rescue is a rescue located in Fort Valley, GA. Our adoption fees range from $250-350+. Although our rescue dogs share a common bond with one another, no rescue story is the same (even when similar). Vetting costs vary depending on their health conditions. All of our dogs are fully vetted: up-to-date on annual shots, spayed/neutered and microchipped with a lifetime registration. We look forward to hearing from you!
