My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Julia!

This sweet natured girl is here in Dyer, IN looking for a home of her own. She just arrived from one of our rescue partners in Texas.

She has only been here for a short time. She is very shy and timid but she really craves human attention. She likes to be picked up and held and she will thank you with kisses of her own.

She would do best in a quiet home environment without small children.

Here is another video we took of her: https://youtu.be/liumqGCpFKk you can see her shy demeanor in this video.

She co-exists with the other dogs in her foster home. She hasn't shown any interest in playing at this time.

Basics: She is a spayed female guessed to be around 8lbs and about 3 yrs old. She is fully grown.
Up to date on all her vaccines and has rabies. She has been dewormed as well

Adoption Process:

- please fill out our adoption application: https://www.dayofthedogs.org/adoption-application

- one of our team members will get back to you.

- our dogs can be seen by appointment only after an approved application has been received. We do not have a facility. Dogs are in foster homes or boarding

- Adoption fee helps to cover spay/neuter, initial vaccines, rabies, fecal, initial worming, and microchip.

-We cannot place holds on our dogs. Please do not contact us until you are prepared to adopt.

NOTE: We are very good about updating the pet's profiles once adopted. So no need to write us to ask "Is he/she still available?" If the post is up, the dog is still available.

About Us:
Day of the Dogs is a 501c3 nonprofit that is dedicated to helping shelters increase live release. We coordinate 2 - 4 transports per month from TX, OK and AR to NW Indiana/Chicagoland area. We do direct adoptions ourselves out of Dyer, IN area and partner with 12 other rescues and shelters in both IL and IN that are willing to help southern pets in need.
We rely on donations to help fund our ongoing transports. Please donate if you can. Every dollar adds up and we are grateful for any help we can get: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/DayoftheDogs
