A SECURE FENCED YARD IS REQUIRED.
Cody, a lovely sable/white Sheltie with a full white collar, came into rescue when his family could no longer care for him. He is a big, sweet boy, looking for a quiet home. A little shy, and skittish around loud or unfamiliar noises, he would do best in a quiet home with a confident canine buddy. Cody has a strong gender preference for females. Housetrained, he needs work walking on lead and has never been in a crate. This boy loves his squeaky toys and tennis balls, and will eagerly play fetch. A big boy at 58 lbs. currently, he needs to lose weight, so food and treats must be rationed. When outside in the yard, he is easily startled by noises (i.e. car doors slamming shut, men's voices), and will run to the door to be let back in. His foster Mom goes outside with him to make sure he does his potty business, otherwise he will hang by the back door to be let back inside. We are working on this, and making some progress with the help of his confident canine room mates. He previously lived with a cat, chickens, and visits from grandchildren and we were told he did well with all.
