My story

Hello there. My name is Mitsy and I am a gorgeous senior ladycat with magnificent whiskers, born in 2008. Some time ago, I was adopted from a shelter into a home that was fine for me, until they adopted 2 dogs. I am afraid of dogs and therefore didn't get along with them, so my humans decided to just give me up. I felt rejected when they brought me here. It broke my spirit.

I am looking for a patient and understanding foster or adopter to bring me into their peaceful home. It has been a difficult road for me. For awhile I had trouble socializing here, so I was reactive with just about everyone. The humans here wouldn't give up on me, though. They showed me consistent acceptance and love...and slowly but surely, I began to build some trust - which brings us to present day. I am lucky enough to be away from other kitties, in my own room at MaxFund's newest expansion, Meow Manor.

I am now calmer and showing my sweet side more and more. I revealed to the humans that I am a LAP CAT!! When you walk into my room, I will greet you and want you to sit down so I can get comfy in your lap for some cuddle time! I will sit there for a while and occasionally give nose kisses. :) I do love to be pet, too, but please note that I can get overstimulated and need a break from the petting (look for the signs of this).

I am on a special diet, but it works out well since I like eating it. I am available for adoption or fostering. Please also note that I need to be the only pet in a household. Well, what are you waiting for? Please ask to see me at MaxFund's Meow Manor. Thank you.

More about this shelter

The MaxFund is a non-profit organization that was established in May of 1988 to provide medical care for injured pets with no known owners, and to seek out new homes for these animals once they have recovered. The MaxFund is a no-kill dog and cat shelter. MaxFund assists hundreds of people and animals each year by trying to make the correct match between owner and pet. MaxFund adopts our animals to Colorado residents only.

The MaxFund is a TRUE no-kill shelter. There is no pre-sorting of animals into "adoptable" and "non-adoptable" categories, discarding the so-called "unadoptable." The MaxFund takes every animal it has the space for. EVERY animal is kept until its owner is found or it is placed in a new adoptive home.
