My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hemmet was rescued from the West LA shelter after being surrendered due to a potential injured hind leg/pelvis. What we found through the orthopedic surgeon and the two different neurologists is that he has a birth defect that caused a spinal malformation and which is causing slight compression of his spinal cord. Since he is still a puppy, the neurologists did not want to proceed with any sort of surgical procedure and will reevaluate once he is fully grown.

At this time, he is looking for a home that is okay with his neurological issues and the potential care he will need. His general veterinarian recommended we wait to neuter him until he is 10 months due to his sensitive skeletal structure. This will allow him to fully grow properly before his neuter. We are looking for a forever home that can help this boy thrive. He does so great with people and other dogs. He is a very silly, sweet and good natured dog who really enjoys his daily walks and time outside - he would prefer a home with a yard and no stairs. Hemmet will need some training during his transition to home life, but he will make sure to fill your whole world with fun and love. Email us for more information on Hemmet at st.bonnies@gmail.com.
