My story

This is what my temporary mommy who loved me so much wrote about me:

They call me Chocopie but I am more of a red-head. My beautiful appearance is that of a Toller retriever but I’m much bigger and leaner, about 50 lbs or so, 24” at the shoulder.  I am a gentle girl, but do have some quirks to overcome.  I can be fearful of people at times, and aliens are definitely not my thing. I would love a quiet home and neighborhood, and really would enjoy a large yard to bound about in.  I love flowers- I sniff every plant, and watch the butterflies. I am completely house trained and will do my business on morning and evening walks. Walks can be scary at first but be patient.  A brief stop or delay will soon help me get over the fear of any place. Our next trip there will be a breeze. I am a great car traveler and may even take a nap. I love being with you, you are my safety.  Don’t rush it, let me come to you in time. And give me plenty of space at first as it will take time for me to trust you.

I am a quick learner, very smart.  I am crate trained, and was taught not to door or gate dash, but may need a refresher and a strong teacher. Oh and how I LOVE squeak toys. I will pounce on them to make them squeak, and will seek them out when bored. I love to play fetch, love the yard, and I can run in the garden and walk in the house without causing tracks, I’m just one of those kinds. I don’t chew on things that are not toys, but will need a lot of patience, and a slow pace, while I get to know you.

So.....if you think you can love me and would like to meet me, please apply for me on www.caringsongsrescue.org (or call (657) 845-9364). Thank you. (Due to my extreme shyness, I'm best in a home with no young children.)
