My story

PLEASE READ entire description before contacting us:

Ashton, long term shelter resident: Arrived 6/21/2021 (he had been previously adopted from us in 2020)---- RESCUE only. He needs a quiet, non chaotic home. He is neutered, vaccinated and heartworm negative.
He is housetrained but if left for hours unattended he will have accidents and CHEW up everything he can get his mouth on. He can be destructive so he should not be left alone for hours upon hours.
He would be best in a home without children. Teens are possibly ok....provided they understand he does not always desire attention.
He is cat like and sometimes just wants to lay in the sun, roam in a fenced in yard or nap in the corner of a room.

RESCUE only. We may consider a direct adoption HOWEVER he is to be an only dog and no children. He does ok with some dogs but due to his aloofness we prefer no other dogs.

More about this shelter

We are a county funded shelter. Our operating budget is very limited. We are open to take in strays and owner turn-ins. We only have 29 kennels and our focus is to promote and adopt out the dogs we take in. We try to learn basic information on the dogs, if they know basic commands, are spayed or neutered, good with other dogs, etc. We do have helpful volunteers that will take a dog home to see how they are in a home situation. As with most shelters we do not know everything about each dog. Our fees to adopt are low. We CANNOT guarantee the health of any animal.
