My story

Hi I’m Diego!

I’m a big goofball with a huge personality! I am crate trained and housebroken already, and very active with toys. I’m a huge fan of tug of war and Kongs that withstand my strong chewing (but don’t worry, I know what I’m allowed to chew on).

I was dumped at the shelter when my previous owner became homeless. I had some issues and abandonment fears that caused me act out, but I was put through a very intense board and train program that cost my rescue friends over $3k! I do come with all my special equipment to maintain my training plus my trainer's guarantee if you need to seek any training advice for me anytime in the future.

I’m selective with new people that come into my home, but I LOVE the kiddos in my foster home. I prefer kids that know boundaries very well and advise no small kids just because I can get a little too excited sometimes and might knock them down. I might be good with other dogs with MANY introductions, but I would prefer to be an only dog. Cats are unknown to me, but with my training I may learn to tolerate them.

Adopters will need to meet with me several times to have sessions with my trainer to learn my very specific training which will keep me in line at all times. I may seem like a lot of work at first, but I’m definitely worth it!

I am neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative/on monthly prevention.

More about this rescue

UAFW, Inc. was founded in 2017, but our story began many years before. We started as a volunteer Facebook page for networking shelter pets at Fort Worth Animal Animal Care and Control. While we have had tremendous success helping to find adoptive homes or rescue organizations to save hundreds of these pets every year, we wanted to do more; to save more animals. That is why we became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization so we can do just that! Now, through donations, we can help provide medical care for sick or injured animals so they can thrive and be placed in loving forever homes once they have fully recovered.
