Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Sasha! She just arrived from one of our rescue partners in Texas. She knows all her basic obedience commands such as sit, lay down and even stay. She walks like a lady on a leash and enjoys snuggling with her person.
Basics: She is guessed to be around 1.5 years old, and weighs about 40 lbs. Her owner relocated and left her with someone else to care for, who brought her to a local shelter when they could no longer care for her. Now she's on the search for her forever family! She is being fostered in Crown Point, IN.
When you call her name she shows her teeth in a little dog grin. We are working on capturing this in a photo or on video and we will share, it's adorable.
Adoption Process:

- our dogs can be seen by appointment only after an approved application has been received. We do not have a facility. Dogs are in foster homes or boarding
- Adoption fee helps to cover spay/neuter, initial vaccines, rabies, fecal, initial worming, and microchip.
-We cannot place holds on our dogs. Please do not contact us until you are prepared to adopt.
NOTE: We are very good about updating the pet's profiles once adopted. So no need to write us to ask "Is he/she still available?" If the post is up, the dog is still available.
About Us:
Day of the Dogs is a 501c3 nonprofit that is dedicated to helping shelters increase live release. We coordinate 2 - 4 transports per month from TX, OK and AR to NW Indiana/Chicagoland area. We do direct adoptions ourselves out of Dyer, IN area and partner with 12 other rescues and shelters in both IL and IN that are willing to help southern pets in need.
