My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Vexilar is a male red ear slider turtle. He is currently 4-inches long. Vexilar is unique in that he does not like to eat fish unless they are dead or dying. He prefers his commercial diet of floating food. He's been known to actually push the feeder fish out of his way to get to his commercial food!

Vexilar is looking for a knowledgeable permanent home. Please remember that as an adult he may get to be 7-9 inches or larger! He will need a 55-gallon tank as a bare minimum (he'd be happier in a larger tank). He will need UVA and UVB bulbs, a very good filter, water heater, frequent water changes, daily food and let's not forget that his lifespan is likely to be 80+ years with proper care!

Please only inquire if you are genuinely serious about providing a permanent home for Vexilar. Turtles are high maintenance and long-lived. Be prepared for a long-term commitment.

Vexilar currently lives in a 55-gallon tank with a larger turtle. He is watched carefully to assure that he gets his fair share of food. Vexilar will need a home where he can be in his very own tank. Males tend to fight and we do not want him to contribute to the already over-abundant supply of turtles in need of homes.

We will not ship Vexilar. Only homes within the state of Minnesota will be considered.

We would happily accept any aquarium/tank donations (10-gallon or larger) or other reptile accessories if anyone has anything they aren't using.
