My story

Suki is a sweet 2-year old Boxer mix who was saved from an overcrowded Oklahoma shelter! Suki is done raising her puppies and ready to find her own loving family!  Suki loves playing with older children (over 13) but is not a fan of young ones that are more unpredictable. Suki is currently living with other dogs her size and a smaller  pooch. Her favorite pasttimes are fetch and chewing on bones / toys! Suki is a shadow pup, following her foster mom everywhere and content to nap on the dog bed beside her desk during the daytime!  She has learned the ropes of living indoors and has mastered potty training. Her leash skills are improving daily according to her foster!  When she hears "go to bed" she heads straight to her kennel, where she sleeps at night.  Suki's is fine with car rides but a little too excited by cats so she will need a feline-free home. Suki has a new LEASH on life... she's curious and excited about this big world and would like to find a home that will keep her mind engaged with games, toys, and lots of exercise to keep her happy and healthy. A 6 foot fence is preferred as Suki is athletic and could clear a 4 foot fence with ease! Are you the right fit for Ms. Suki?

The suggested adoption donation for Suki is $365. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization which means that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals.  In 2020 alone, we were able to provide animal Healthcare costing over $241,000 covered mainly through adoption fees.

Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.

Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.

More about this rescue

Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue, Inc. is a not for profit organization formed in 2014 by a small group of devoted animal lovers, in the Council Bluffs/Omaha area, with many years of rescue experience wanting to make a difference in the lives of dogs. Our rescue focuses on small breed dogs, less than 35 pounds, of any age. It is all volunteer based, and all of our rescue dogs are living in the homes of our volunteers.
Our rescue is unique in that we offer supportive services, such as education and training, to owners considering relinquishing their pet in an effort to try to keep the dog in their home whenever possible. We also educate and offer placement assistance to owners attempting to rehome their pets through social media sites, which can often be risky for the pets as well as the owners.
