My story

ADOPTED!

This little cutie pie is Gunny. He was surrendered in a domestic violence situation! Gunny is a sweet, energetic, playful boy. But he does have some anxiety and gets all worked up when he sees dogs or people on the other side of his fence or walking down the street in front of his house. So he definitely has the guard dog instincts. But he does love playing with dogs, toys and people but he just doesn't want them outside his space. Gunny honestly would do great in a country home where there isn't dogs directly on the other side of the fence and just a quiet calm environment. He must have a 6foot privacy fence. His favorite place is next to you on a couch or bed. Gunny is housebroken and rides well in the car. He can be crated but he hates it. Gunny is continuing to learn manners to not jump on people and not pull on a leash. Gunny needs outlets for his energy...dog playmate, older children, walks, etc Gunny has been around cats and done fine. Clearly he is very handsome so if you'd like to meet Gunny just fill out an application to get pre-approved.

More about this rescue

TBRO is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and we have been rescuing Boxers for nearly 30 years. We started out on a small scale rescuing dogs in the Tulsa area. Over the years, TBRO has become a statewide organization, rescuing nearly 400 Boxers a year from all over the state of Oklahoma. Many of our dogs available for adoption and our foster homes are located in Oklahoma City, as well as Tulsa. We are funded solely by private donations, adoption fees, and fundraising events. It is a constant struggle to raise the funds needed, but it is a labor of love. Our dedicated and committed volunteers and their passion for Boxers are what makes this organization work. We could not operate without those who donate their time, money or both.
