Lyo was born 09/2017 and we adopted her 05/2018. She arrived to us with high anxiety whenever crated, even for short periods of time. We do not crate her due to it being too traumatic for her; the family that wants to welcome her into their lives will need to be on the same page.
We are having to re-home her, as much as we hate it, because my spouse's employer is having our family move overseas for his global project work. We will have to live in a small apartment in a city, with no yard for Lyo to run in. The neighbors would not put up with her standard Pyrenees barking (as they are known to do, as it is their first line of defense). She would also not survive well the trip there, since being in a crate for so long would be terrorizing for her. She does fine with cats and children of all ages (that being said, I personally still would never leave any dog alone with a child). We hope to find a family who is ready for a loving, snuggly protector who understands crate anxiety in dogs.
