Meet adorable Max. He is such a sweet little guy who loves life and loves everyone he meets.

CRT received a call from a family a few months ago. They had a Chihuahua puppy that had a broken leg. Unfortunately the family could not afford the surgery and they pleaded with CRT to save their dog and take him into our program. With tears in their eyes, they turned him over to CRT – knowing it would save his life and be best for his future.

Max had two broken bones in his front left leg. He required special orthapedic surgery to repair his leg. CRT would like to publically thank all of our donor families for covering the cost of this surgery – $4400. Each of you who donated placed a huge part in Max’s future, and Max sends his love to you every day. It has been a long journey for this lively puppy. But Max is now completely healed, and ready for adoption.

Max loves dogs of all sizes. He loves to play with the dogs in his foster home. They run around the yard chasing one another. They also love to wrestle. He wants to play all day! Max also loves toys. He is obsessed with them and enjoys all types of toys. One of his favorites is a rope toy and he loves to play tug-of-war with other dogs or with his humans! Max hopes you have a large toy box and lots of toys!

Max also adores his humans. He is friendly towards everyone and just wants to be your best friend. Max runs to the door to meet you every time you come home. He is so happy to see his family and he puts a smile on our face every day. Due to Max’s puppy nature and puppy attention span, if often takes him time to slow down long enough to come and jump into your lap. But he does love to be cuddled and petted. Usually his lap time is short, as he is off to play with his buddies or his toys!

Max was born on Dec 26, 2020. He weighs about 7.5 pounds. He has a handsome reddish coat and we love his ears! Max has long legs and is quite athletic. His family will need to monitor him throughout his life to ensure he does not climb up high areas and jump down, stressing his leg. His leg is strong now, but will always be somewhat at risk. Max has puppy energy! He is very curious and smart. He also loves to have fun. He can be a door darter, so his foster family will need a secure area around your front door. Note we do not think he is trying to escape. He is just excited to see the world and wants to run outside to make sure he is not missing any excitement!

The perfect home for Max will be one that is fun and active. Being a puppy, Max would enjoy another small dog to grow up with. (Applications will not be considered where he would be the only dog). He also needs a family who can check on him every 4-6 hours (would not be a good fit for a family that works 10-12 hour days). Max would be great in a home where his family was home a lot. Because of his high energy level, we do not feel he is apartment appropriate. He is not a big barker, but he does alert at sounds. Due to his prior injury history, Max would do best in a home with adults or older mature children over the age of 10.

Max is completely potty trained. He is crate trained and will sleep in his crate at night. Max is leashed trained. We think he would make a great walking buddy. He would make a great family dog.

Max is being fostered in the Dallas, Texas area. If he sounds like the new best friend you’ve been looking for, please fill out an application! Our CRT adoption form can be found at: http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/

Max is neutered, micro chipped, up-to-date on shots, HW negative and on heartworm prevention. He is ready to join a loving family – could that family be yours?

This dog is a CRT rescue. Reference checks, adoption contract and $350 adoption donation is required. As part of our mission to reduce the number of unwanted and sick dogs, we require that all current pets are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and taking heart worm prevention. Applications will not be considered if one or more of these requirements are not met.

After filling out an adoption application (found at http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/), please email DFWCoordinator@chihuahua-rescue.com if you are interested in this dog. Please be sure to read about our adoption process and then fill out an adoption application before emailing the contact person.
