Here's what the humans have to say about me:
NOTE: We do not adopt our fosters to anyone further than a 1 hour drive from Albany, NY.
My name is Duty and I am 2 years old. I was surrendered to AnimaLovers because my owner could not have pets in their apartment and were unable to provide vet care for me. As you can you tell, I have vision problems! My left eye has significant scarring and my right eye has ruptured. I am considered blind but my foster mom says I may be able to see some shadows. I had surgery on December 23rd to have the remaining right eye tissue removed so it does not cause me issues in the future. I am all healed up now.
My perfect family will be a quiet home with no or older children. If someone was home most of the day even better. I like to follow humans around. I will be your cute furry shadow. I am a lap cat also. I would also really love someone who will talk to me a lot while they are home so I know I'm not alone! I am not a fan of cats in my foster home and rather be the only pet. I chase other cats. They are usually smart and jump up high out of my way! LOL I don’t want to be with dogs either. My family will also need to be understanding and patient with me because I will be grumpy at first until I get comfortable with them and memorize my new surroundings.
I'll adjust best if I have my own room to stay in at first so I'm not overwhelmed with too much space. I even do stairs fine after an adjustment as long as they are not completely open on the sides. I must be an indoor kitty. No extra experience is needed for us blind cat, just love. All you have to do is call the phone number and fill out an application.
I hope someone will give me a chance to show them blind cats are just as good companions as sighted ones! We can snuggle on the cold winter nights.
