My story

Hello! I am Astro! I am one year old and currently weigh 41 pounds. My foster mom says I am more confident and warm up quickly to new people. I am a sweet dog and like the other dogs in my foster home. I really love to hang out with the kids but sometimes I accidentally knock one over so I think I might do better with school aged kiddos. I would love a home with another dog to show me the ropes and to run and play with. I cannot wait until the cold weather comes and I can play in my yard or go for walks with my human. Did you know that Husky’s love cold weather? My foster family has a fenced yard and a doggie door so I am able to go outside when I want. I love this so much so I am definitely looking for a home with a tall, secure fence. My perfect family will have Husky or Shepherd experience, be super fun and active, love to give me me plenty of exercise, and want to hang out with in my yard. If you are interested in adding me to your family, you can complete an online application at digsk9.org. The adoption fee is $325.

This dog will be up to date on age appropriate and required vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. Please note that we are unable to hold dogs for any reason including moves and vacations. Once approved for adoption we require the adopter to complete the adoption and take ownership of their new companion.

**We do our best to accurately represent the breeds of each pet. However, the breeds listed have not been verified via a DNA test. They are chosen based on the appearance and characteristics of the pet at the time of listing.

Why adoption is a great option

Astro, a Joliet Husky/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Husky/Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Joliet, or seeking a Husky/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Joliet.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Joliet already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Joliet breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Husky/Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Husky/Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Joliet paves the way for another one to be saved.
