Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This is Balthazar, a jet black, senior, male, cat who was abandoned by his owners this past fall and dumped on the streets expected to fend for himself without any street smarts that equipped him to survive. In the days leading up to his rescue, neighbors reported hearing the sounds of a wailing cat at their doors late at night, desperate for someone to let him inside as the weather was beginning to turn cold. When two good samaritans found him, he was nothing more than skin and bones. Lucky Black Cats immediately stepped in and have worked to get this sweet boy back to health. Priority #1 was putting on weight. Next the vets did a full blood workup and by some sheer miracle, despite his old age, Balthazar is quite healthy. However, due to poor oral hygiene care from his prior owners, Balthazar had many teeth that were either missing or needed removing following a general cleaning and
round of antibiotics upon his rescue. As such, he requires a diet that consists mostly of soft food mixed with warm water to allow for easy consumption. Otherwise, Balthazar is ready to go! He just needs some consistency in his life and the safety of a warm place to lay his head and someone to give him the occasional head scratch. Ideally we'd love to find his furever home, but more importantly a foster who is willing to step up this holiday season and do a true act of kindness by giving this old fella a place to live while he waits for his furever family. There is no greater violation and hurt than being abandoned by the people who are supposed to love you the most. So even if you are willing to lend him some love and be his foster, it would be the utmost kindness you could give him. He truly deserves it!
