My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet social and lovable Bert! Six-year-old Bert is looking for a new forever home because he is not happy about the toddler in his home, so for the safety of his young human sibling as well as his own- it is best to find a child-free home for him now. Bert’s owners have had him since adopting him as a Rain City Rescue puppy from Georgia 6 years ago, so they love and care about him tons. Bert does seem to be good with older kids, so children need to be over 12 for this loving and lovable Bert. Bert LOVES people, is very affectionate and totally enjoys hanging out with you! He gets along great with his smaller canine sibling so we think he’ll be fine with another submissive dog in the home. But Bert is perfectly happy to be with just his people too! He’s not been exposed to cats, so kitties are an unknown for Bert. Bert currently weighs 60lbs, but he could stand to lose a few pounds! Bert’s a good exercise partner, he enjoys his daily walks and loves accompanying you on every adventure. No longer a puppy, Bert has average energy- and he loves to fetch and play. But Bert also loves to chill out with you and digs his naps next to you or in the sunshine! He is a good hiking partner and is great in the car. His owners say “he is the sweetest boy and just wants to be petted and loved”. Bert knows his basic commands and has had formal training. Bert is completely house trained and crate trained too. Bert is good in the home and is not a chewer, toy destroyer or a fence jumper. He can be trusted in the home if you go to work, but Bert would be just as happy if his new adopters are retired or work from home. He loves the outdoors and even snow as he lived in snowy Utah for a few years. Handsome and happy Bert is hoping for his transition to a new home without small children will be as seamless as it can be. He wishes for loving adopters who like to have fun and can give him the time and attention he deserves and craves. Bert is neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped. For questions about loyal and cutest companion Bert, email Pam at raincityrescue@gmail.com. To complete an adoption or foster application, please go to www.raincityrescue.com/adopt. We hope you get to meet this amazing but unlucky boy Bert very soon!
