My story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Wilkes is a total sweetheart looking for an adopter to welcome him to his brand new life! Could it be you?

Handsome and sweet, this boy is full of southern charm. Wilkes can be shy at first, but once he warms up he just wants to be with his people and shower them with affection. Wilkes gets along well with a female doggie in his foster home, and we think he would do well with another social, friendly female as long as he can make friends at his own pace. He would also be happy to be your one and only! In fact, he makes a great work-from-home buddy!

Wilkes is crate trained and walks nicely on a leash. He loves to learn and happily shows off his skills in exchange for treats!

A youngster at just about a year and a half old, Wilkes would do best in a calm home where he can continue to learn about how wonderful life can be! He is hoping for that special someone who will show him all the warmth and love he deserves.

Open your heart and home to Wilkes by applying to adopt today!

A meet a greet with any resident or frequently visiting dogs is required. Please, no kitties, small dogs, or small kids for Wilkes.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require each applicant to complete an adoption application, followed by a home visit. We also contact personal and veterinarian references. We want to make sure that the next home our furbabies go to, is their last, and that they will be loved like a member of the family.

Go meet their pets

We are a foster based rescue, but do also have a small shelter. You can contact us at diamondunderdogs@yahoo.com to setup an appointment to come out and check out some of our adoptables.

More about this rescue

Diamonds in the Ruff Animal Rescue is a non profit animal rescue organization that is run by a dedicated group of volunteers. Our mission is to protect the welfare of animals, one life at a time, from unnecessary euthanasia. From high kill shelters to foster homes to caring adoptive families, Diamonds in the Ruff handles every aspect of the rescue process. Our animals are examined, vaccinated, spayed or neutered and receive necessary medical treatment. Foster homes are used to provide sanctuary and ensure a successful placement. Our goal is to make the adoption process a kind, informative and rewarding experience because we believe that every animal can become a treasured family pet.

Why we do it:
4 million animals are euthanized each year in the United States.
That is 300,000 a month
Over 11,000 each day
Diamonds in the Ruff Animal Rescue works tirelessly to decrease this statistic.
