My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

(Please note: Taz is listed as a Xolo here because Peruvian Inca Orchid is not a breed choice on Adopt-A-Pet. He is a pure Peruvian, NOT a Xolo)
Hi everybody! My name is Taz. I am a standard Peruvian Inca Orchid (PIO), a rare, primitive breed of dog (at least that's what they tell me, I just know I'm a happy dog!). I weigh about 45 lbs but I think I am a lap dog! I love to climb in your lap and cuddle. I am a very good boy. I am housetrained and know how to sit, but I could really use more training. I'm only 2 years old, so I'm still really a baby, full of puppy energy. For that reason, I need an active home. I need to get that energy out, so I would like to go for walks or runs, and would be a great candidate for agility or Fast Cat. I can be a little exuberant, and I really don't understand how strong I am, so a home with no little dogs or little kids is needed (kids over 12 would be ok). I would dearly love to have another dog about my size that I could play with. That's my favorite thing. At my foster home, there are only little dogs and cats. I try to play with them, but they are small and they run and hide from me, which makes me sad. I also need a fenced yard so I can run around as much as I want. I am not a candidate for apartment living as I need a yard of my own. I don't think that's too much to ask, but nobody has chosen me yet and I don't know why. I am very loving and happy and just want a home of my very own where I can be my goofy, playful self. I'm waiting! (Taz is being fostered in DE)
