We adopted Dixie ?? years ago from a no-kill shelter here in Panama City, Florida as a companion for our older dog. We got her outside with our dog and they immediately got along just great playing together and having fun. And she has been an important part of our family life ever since.
We have had a wonderful, loving, relationship with Dixie this past ?? years.
She likes to be "hidden" whenever she is at home - in her kennel (with the door open), under the bed.
She is very social with our other pets (dog and cat), with kids, and with visitors.
She loves to go for long walks and we use a gentle leader leash to walk her..
She is not allowed on our furniture although she sometimes tries to climb in our laps when we are petting her!
She is SO affectionate.
We are moving to a mountain home in Utah in January which has 3 flights of stairs and is on a steep mountain road.
We don't think Dixie will do well with the long journey to Utah and with the cold climate and the climbing.
